I'd put one in at 50 tho.

But again dude....... I think you need to take this to a shop.

oops, must have not seen that, i read that as + and = to, not +/-

any recommendations as to what shop to try? we took it to 2 different dealerships, both were stumped, and we took it to an independent shop, that was also stumped. all 3 had no idea what to try next

Where are ya at?

Also just a question but have you completed a compression test? Also have you tried manual TDC timing with distributor setting to #1 at TDC on compression stroke?

fremont, ca 94536 or close by

havent timed it yet, nor done a comrpession test, can add those to my list though

as for timing, are you refering to just checking it for proper time on the #1 plug and the mark on the balancer with a light? or actually comparing the cam to the crank @ 0*?

Compairing the piston TDC, with TDC mark, and with rotor in the distributor?

Also did you do a back Flow PSI on the CAT yet?

Not sure on the Cali but someone will chime in.

Default Anyone kow a good shop in Cali?

Oh ya, 4.7L....... if you go to the top of the page to your name and click it right next to the Welcome,_________ sign then go to "Vehicle Information" and you'll see a little box like this----> you can input your year, modle, and engine size, 4X4 or what ever and then everytime you post it will always have that information on the right of your post.

It would be a good idea to have the back pressure checked for free at a muffler shop. Should be below 3psi for sure. Anyway I still think a shop is your best bet but I hope someone can chime in for ya. Did you do a manual test of the oil pressure?

I hate tot ake it somewhere, but... at the point of needing it fixed and making it last until we get a 2011 yukon xl.... need something.... just dont want the disappointment of another shop saying we dont know whats wrong after hours of diagnostics....

if i can compile a list, i can basically figure it out myself with a shop doing the actual work, and me figuiring out what is the problem based on their results...
