Trans problem
Hey i have a 99 durango with the 5.2 in it 4x4.my tranny is haveing a problem shifting out of second gear ive already flushed it out and replaced the filter anybody else have some ideas that can solve this
he is asking if it shifts from 1-2 on its own ok, or back down from 2-1 on its own, we got that it wont shift into 3 properly
o im sorry i got you now lol.yeah it shifts fine from 1st to 2nd and back down from 2-1 with no problem.just going into 3rd from 2nd is the problem sorry for me getting confused
Okay. Here is the problem. Transmission fluid don't like heat, the hotter the fluid gets it start to harden the pistion seals. There two drums the front of the trans, on the front drum the fluid is leaking pass the seal and hold fluid to make the next shift. You can try adding some seal softner to the trans and hope it works, or you'll need to replace all seals and clutches. Meaning a overhaul.
