Well maybe you should drop the pan and take a look in there. Replace both filters and add ATF+4 (6-8 quarts). Look for metal fragments and such on the magnet.
do NOT flush the trans on ANY Chrysler motors product
and yes there are two filters, one is alot like the stock air filer (shape wise) and the other should be a spin on type filter (like an oil filter) change them both
Gorhad
The noise you are hearing, does it sound like a ratchet? And if you have only had the truck for 2 weeks, If you send me a pm with the last 9 of the vin i can ck warranty history. Along with mileage.
Ok found the other oil filter after dropping the pan, changed all parts 2 fiters and gasket. Added 7 and a bit qts ATF+4. No leaks at all, drove it for about 10 miles and everything seemed fine. Fingers crossed.
When i dropped the pan there was no magnet in there so went to ace hardware a got a 25 pound disc magnet and put it in hope thats OK
That was too big. The magnet is just a small one in there on the bottom of the pan. Seeing that it might not be there means someone must have serviced the trans at a point in time and removed it and that is what was causing the issue. If you have floating metal pieces in there it will cause lots of gremlins.
