Default Ac trouble

I own a 1999 Dodge Durango 5.2 v8 2wd and just charged my Ac yesterday and I put 28 ounces in it because I only have front Ac. My Ac willnt engage but I can turn it with my hands so it's not froze up. When I turn on max Ac it just blows hot air on the windshield it does that for every setting. I'm trying to find out why my clutch doesn't engage and why no matter what setting its on it only blows out hot air on the windshield.

You have two separate issues. One being why the ac won't turn on and the other is a vacuum leak in the HVAC system (default no vacuum position is defrost). If memory serves 28oz is a bit over what the spec is for the front only system. Anyway you need to get a set of manifold gauges on the ac system to see what's going on and go from there.

There isn't "a vacuum", you have a leak somewhere in a vacuum line.

Default 03. Durango v8 magnum hot front air

Hello. I am Tired of fixing vehicles. I'm told I'm dealing with a possible front blend door issue. I had good cold air since the compressor and evap were changed last summer until all of a sudden it started blowing heat. The next day it blew cold, and in 5 minutes blew heat. What's up? What can I do to know for sure? Fuses? Relays? Hammer through dash?

Default Ac no cold only hot

Fixed it. A guy came and looked at it today, said it was junk in the lines. Cleaned it up, and charged me 20 bucks. It doesn't get much better than this. Thank the Lord!

I'd be concerned about where said junk came from. Junk doesn't just get in the a/c lines, something in the a/c system must be deteriorating. I'd guess rubber hoses.

hoses or dryer coming apart , or compressor sending black death into the system ........run it a while and see what it does . Don
