Common A/C issues: problems and solutions
Wow, this is a great idea. Nice job guys.
Now I have a question for ya. I have a 2000 Dodge Durango 4.7. When we bought it, the lines were all removed. So my father found some other lines, and replaced them. We had the equipment to take care of everything...however, now, after it is all installed, the compressor will not kick on. So, to test it, we direct wired from the fuse box to the compressor, and low and behold it worked. No my question is, where between point A and point B could my issue be, and how could I fix it? Also, I checked my power at the ambient temperature sensor, and there is NO power at the sensor, but there is power from the power module. WHat can my issue be?

i take you already checked fuses then too? it is possible that you are low on refrigerant, you need to make sure you got enough into the system, the correct amounts are listed in this thread
It is at the proper levels. All fuses checked out. As I said, when you put a "hot" wire to the compressor, it runs, but of course the clutch will not disengage when this is done. I know it has to be a simple issue, I just can't figure it out for the life of me.
did you check the fuses? are the temp sensors connections nice and clean? reseat all the connectors for the A/C youd be amazed how many times something that simple has fixed issues for me
thanks i will look into it.. the ac blows great while driving.
is it hard to get at?
its located on the engine side of the radiator, in front of the clutch fan, it should come on whenever the a/c does, you will need a flashlight to look and see if its running (needs to be checked w/ the engine and a/c on) if not start by changing the relay and then check wiring,(jump power directly to the fan) and then replace the fan if that doesnt get it spinning.
I believe I found my issue shrp, the A/C Pressure Transducer has no power to it, and was not the proper one. I have the proper one (three wires, violet/white, black/ light blue, and dark blue). Now, the issue was, my car has no ambient temperature sensor, but the system we put on, had wiring for it...so my dad got confused, and wired the Pressure Transducer to these wires(which were not connected to anything else). so, if i install the proper transducer, and wire it to the PCM...it should fix my issue, correct?
