And to Biff, you lived or live. Big difference the emissions laws and strict and I called up to the Davidson county emission center and they clearly said a cat convertor is required to pass emissions.

Anyways, you asked for an opinion and we gave you the truth that there is no performance gains and there's no good that can come from it.

Apparently you are set in the fact you're taking the cat off so don't ask for any more opinions on the subject.

OK, now I'm pissed.

I work second shift, had to drive home last night on unplowed roads in blizzard conditions (in a borrowed mercury tracer with bad tires, since by D is in the shop). Walked in the door and got to bed at 5am. What wakes me up at 7? Some little douchebag high school snot with loud exhaust running full throttle down my street. To say I was pissed off would be the biggest understatement since the beginning of time. I have a family to support, and my job is physically demanding and long hours. I NEED my sleep you little ******.

Let me tell you something kids. Loud exhaust does not make you cool. It makes you a ****ing *******. And it may even put you in physical danger (just like this little ***** this morning next time I see him around town).

Corey, I couldn't agree more. Welcome to my life.

I have a "respectably" loud exhaust but it's a loud where you can hear the performance out of it and can tell it's a 5.9L motor. Loud and poppy exhaust that's the works of removing your muffler or cat convertor is just annoying and downright disrespectful.

Yeah, I get the "respectably" loud exhaust. Nice throaty rumble. Sounds cool and easy to keep under control. What I hate is the exhaust that's been made loud purely for the sake of "loud is cool. huh huh huh". Like the little Honda's that just sound like a chainsaw running down the road.

And don't get me started on Harleys. Love the bikes, they're beautiful machines. Just seems like 95% of the people who ride them (at least around here) are inconsiderate ******. (That will probably ruffle a few feathers... LOL)

Yeah I never really understood the myth being loud is cool. I always like to laugh at the "rice burners" as I call them, Honda 4 bangers that try and act like they have something big packed under the hood.

I lived in robertson county and there is still no testing there. I know people who welded shells which pass the visual and OB2 only requires the a scan and no sniffer the last I knew of. Don't call me a dumbass because you can't understand how anyone would get around the law.

Last inspection I got in may they had a underground pit that they "inspect" the undercarriage and check the cat and everything.

I couldn't possibly understand how someone would get around that with a missing cat. That and the fact it would be so loud the inspector would have to be extremely ignorant to think that noise was real.
