That will be the day I lower my truck to improve gas mileage... LOL
I agree but there are those that will do about anything in the quest for mileage. Mrs.N has the 89 & when we bought the 94 first comment she had was, "this thing rides like a car! Doncha think its a little low"? Now she is happy. One thing I never see mentioned is visibility sitting up there a little. Mrs.N. also can see now and feels safer up there where she can see more.

Well, yeah, but those people are buying a Prius, not a Durango....
(And then they're staring longingly at my dented, rusted, gas hogging Durango when they're buried in a snow drift and I'm cruising easily on past them....)
All true comments, as for me I have a little Honda Prelude I use to get into work when I don't have to pull a trailer to save on gas. It's got a little 4 cylinder but is still fun to drive and gets great gas mileage.
As for saving gas on the Durango, good luck! There is only so much you can do to get better fuel economy on these and after that it's an endless money pit of mods.

Yep, this.
I'd say open up your airflow on both the intake and exhaust side, maybe overinflate your tires by a few psi, and then drive like a granny as much as you can stand it. Beyond that, just suck it up and live with the fact that you drive a gas hog.
I considered buying a small car, but i paid off my durango years ago, so all i have invested in it now is gas. that does make it a little better than having a green car payment and still have to put gas in it.
Not to high jack your thread. I have 3 inch pipe from the Y back. It has a cat and flowpro muffler. I want to run dual instead of single exhaust. Should I keep the 3 inch in and 3 inch out and go dual or run a muffler 3 inch in 2.5 inch out?
I have only heard of a muffler that's 3 inch in and either dual 2.5" or single 3" out. Good luck finding s muffler that's dual 3" out because I've never heard of it. Like I said for best performance you're going to wanna go with single 3" out.
