just got my durango back from getting head gaskets and timing chains and tensioners done and it was hissing bad... found ot the source and this was missing where does it go and what does it do ???

I got em.....looks like a 4.7......I am not good at posting photos on this site so PM me your email address and I will send them. I have a series of photos....but here might be a good starting point. I can send you photos that you can blow up on your screen and view the detail...

Stick your finger over the end of the opening and have someone slightly rev up the engine a bit (in Park!) Did that affect the runability at all? If not or if it made it better, perhaps there was just a cap on the "T" that is missing or was knocked off.

Let us know. Some other 4.7 guys may chime in related to what they have in that same section.

I think there is a vacuum hose that plugs into the Throttle Body or the intake manifold. You can look under your hood and there will be a vacuum diagram on a sticker.

 

I sent him some photos of mine..... hopefully that will start a good start.....it goes from the firewall along the a/c lines....to what I believe to be the cruise control diagrapham on the passengers side fender well.... it is one of the lines that run under the braided line for protection. I still have the photos on the computer if anyone is interested for their own use. I am not very good at photos to this site though.....if anyone wants them PM me your email address.

it dosent reallly seem to be messing with the runnabilty... but it does idle down lower when i plug it with my finger.... its just making a loud hissing noise.. my wife has got it, she will be at work till 8 pm......... tonight befor i can look at it again.

 

by the way magic84... you said it ends up in the passenger firewall right ???? by the speed control or somthing?.... i will look when she gets home .. the pictures helped me but i get confused .. but as long as i know where it ends up i should be able to find where it goes .. i seen on your pictures at the end of the hose its screwed into a housing or somthin
