No. When I check my tranny fluid when the engine is completely cold and not running and when I put the dipstick back in that it does not stay down. I think it is from the rubber underneath /inside the cap at the top is worn out. I think i am gonna have to just buy a new dipstick. Oh well, the party must continue, lol. I want to thank you for your prompt reply.

Yeah, sounds like replacing it is the hot ticket. Most parts stores should be able to get you one. Compare the new one to your old one when you get it, and make sure they are the same.... (length, where the scale for fluid level is, etc.)

The tranny will not bolt up and in fact you will need a new transmission because the 44re was backed behind the 318 and not the 545rfe. Also, I'm not sure how correct that statement is that the 318 is more common, because honestly I've seen more 4.7s and 5.9s than I've seen the 5.2 motor. I think in all my years I've worked on 2 or 3 Durangos where the 5.2 was under the hood.

Also, for the record the grammar police has pulled you over...

It should read...
You've seen more 4.7's than 318's. Well you're either 15 years old or mentally challenged. For the record, you're not very bright. And also for the record DA the 4.7 is a POS! Oh I'm replacing a POS 4.7 with a 318. The 318 is very abundant, more so than the 4.7. I'm not sure who to feel more sorry for: You (spewing crap) trying to sound like you know something or any poor guy who would listen to you. You have no idea what you'e talking about. I suppose you would also say there's not an abundance of the Chevy 350's either. Stick to crayons and elmors glue. < You know things you know about.

You're responding to an 11 year old thread and trying to insult someone who hasn't posted in over ten. Good job on your first post!

Well, i'll give him the thread was posted in as recently as 2 years ago, but, for the rest, you are spot on. If this is going to be his general posting style, he isn't going to last long..... I suspect though, that this one is just a 'drive-by' poster, and we won't see him again.
