change motor from a 4.7 to 318
i am a new member and wandering ihave a2000 durango and motor needs rebuilt or replaced and 4.7 is expensive and 318 is more comon so will it bolt to tranny and wath about wireing harnes and computer i am very mechanical this is my first dodge
no it wont bolt up to the same transmission
in order to do the swap from a 4.7 to the 5.2 you will need (at a minimum)
1)engine
2)transmission
3)wire harness
4)computer
5)some say motor mounts, i cannot confirm or deny this one

Like shrp said, you will need basically everything to start from scratch because nothing will line up and more than likely you will spend more time and money on the replacement than if you would on doing an overhaul, that is unless you get a ridiculously good deal on the 318.
The tranny will not bolt up and in fact you will need a new transmission because the 44re was backed behind the 318 and not the 545rfe. Also, I'm not sure how correct that statement is that the 318 is more common, because honestly I've seen more 4.7s and 5.9s than I've seen the 5.2 motor. I think in all my years I've worked on 2 or 3 Durangos where the 5.2 was under the hood.
Also, for the record the grammar police has pulled you over...
It should read...
