i really dont know what they are referring to as the auxillary pump, maybe ill take some time out tomorrow and go see what i can find on mine (maybe its a 2nd generation thing bc i see the one guy has 2004 listed as his model year), however nothing it mentioned in either the service manual or the parts manual that i have found yet, ill let you know what i find, but i would love to see pictures from some of these people with the supposed location of this thing.

SamnnBensdad if thats a real legit part that might be what they're talking about. though i dont think I've seen anything that looks like that in on my durango?

Looks like something that can support an in and out line?

My second pic did not show up, but it showed the part going into the passenger side firewall. It appears to be a pump used to push coolant/antifreeze to the rear for rear heat.

weird, with the part number i was able to find it in both the parts manual (under FRONT HVAC components, who ever woulda looked there???) and in the factory service manual.

http://www.mediafire.com/?94brmacvp0uac2a

from the page linked above
DESCRIPTION
The electric coolant pump is used on all vehicles.
The pump is located under the hood on the right
inner fender well.
OPERATION
The pump is controlled by the HVAC controller and
is only operational under the following conditions:
(1) Vehicle speed below 17 m.p.h.
(2) Coolant temperature above 150° but less than
230 ° F.
(3) Any blower speed setting.
(4) Temperature heat setting above the halfway
setting (60% heat).
(5) The pump will turn off at speeds above 30
m.p.h.
(6) The pump will turn off if the coolant tempera-
ture rises above 230° F.

Thats interesting. so whats the pumps purpose? it says under what conditions it functions but not what its job is?

Just by reading it i dont think this would be my problem. But It doesn't hurt to find it. is the right fender well the passenger side or driver side?

based ont he picture in the manual id say passenger, but it shouldnt be the cause of overheating problems since it is just there to make sure the rear heater core has enough flow that the rear passengers dont freeze in the winter.

EDIT: its passenger side, on the firewall right behind the stock air filter box.
