in 4wd high there is no special speed limiter above whats there anyway
however is is recommended by dodge that you dont go above 45 or 50 (i believe shift speed is said under 25 or 30 but i could be mistaken and i know i have shifted 4wd above that), although in most cases in 4wd the conditions dont allow you to go any faster
so what i would do is run in 2wd to save the chance of doing any damage, but i do know of people who do drag runs in 4wd and havnt had any problems, just shift out after you clear the finish line and before you turn off the strip. (and don switch in until you are in the staging area and will only be going straight from there to the end)

haha, that is what we used to call it, even my parents. Any ways the 242 or 244 if it has an electric switch (this transfer case came from the grand cherokee's) has a full time setting with out a speed limit or a part time traditional 4wd setting that is recommended no faster than 55. The 241 and 243 don't have this setting they can only go 55. I don't know about the
the AWD only transfer case.

I've heard the Ford V6 is on the gutless side. Where my dad works (works for the city on fire trucks and similar things) they were driving Tahoes and decided to try some Explorers with the V6 to try and save on gas. They got worse mileage than the Tahoes and were gutless compared to them too.

When you pop it out of 4X4 on the fly your supposed to let off the gas, so with that said I would just go in 2wd and that's all for sure. Don't engage the tow button either, that will give you less torque management on the high end but lowers your low end torque in racing.
+1 Sharps, it is recommended by Dodge, but not a fact. However I wouldn't want to replace a front end or T-case.
