check and make sure the wires going to the washer pump and level sensor are making good contact. If you're still having problems you'll probably need to replace the fluid level sensor. It's a $10 part on rockauto.com as is the pump if you end up needing that also

Doesnt the early model Ds have a washer fluid tank in the rear soley for the rear window? Im not really SURE about it, but if it does I would check the level in that.

my 99 has a separate tank for the rear. Do the 01 (i'm guessing 01 and up since thats when the "facelift" was done) and up durangos not have it?

I'm guessing that its not the rear tank that's causing the issue but i guess it never hurts to check the level in it. (usually rain water running down from the roof fills up the rear tank since the filler tube is in the jamb of the rear gate)

Yea, my 03 only has only one. I happen to notice the filler tank one day looking at a friends 99 but wasnt positive if it was the washer fluid. Then I forgot to ask about it. lol

The older style windshield washer tank in the rear does not have a level sensor, however the front ones do if equipped in both older and newer builds in the 1st generation.

they probably changed it in 2000 then ahead of the 2001 facelift

if you don't have one of these in the jamb of your rear hatch then the front and back must both run from the same tank

i had a problem similar to that and it ended up being that the sensor for the tank was floating upside down...
