Sudden loss of power
Just bought a 2003 Durango 5.9L R/T a couple weeks ago. It has 95k miles on it. Just had it in for its 90k tune up.
The issue I'm having is that twice in the past week I have been driving (once on the freeway and once on an artierial) and then all of sudden it looses power. I step on the gas and nothing. I pull off the road, wait a minute and then get back on the road and it runs fine.
Has anyone had this issue before?
Thanks
Ian

That might be a big problem there. Everyone on here says not to flush the tranny....causes many problems with these rigs.
Hows the shifting when driving? Harsh at all? Takes awhile to shift into any gear? weird noise in any gear?

Let me expand a little more about the problem.
So while driving, all of a sudden I press the gas and nothing. Car kind of jerks. No check engine light comes on. Rpms dont jump. Car doesn't actually lose power (radio and heat still work). I pull off the road, wait a minute or two and get back on the road. It was about 100-200 miles between the two instances.

My crank sensor went out 3 months ago and did not throw a code, same thing though, just kept dying on me, first it would cut out only in reverse, after a few days it was cutting out whenever the revs dropped in traffic. Not a bad job to fix but it's a bit of a pig to get to.
