You arent going to get any "high end" tabs for 150-300. High end tabs will run 400-800. Trust me, I on big on Android devices.

Even with all that said, IMO, putting a tablet on a cup holder pedestal looks like crap. Trying to make one fit in the dash by gluing mounts I dont think will look well either.

When I was speaking about HDMI, the other part of that I didnt get into because I know you dont want to deal with it is a full computer system.

Your largest microSD at a decent cost is a 32Gb. Sure there are 64s and 128s but you better have some deep pockets if you want a class 10 card or such. 32Gb is not much in todays world

The other bad thing about tabs trying to be integrated into the dash is that there are so many out there. If you did one for the Xoom it would only fit the Xoom, ECT. As much as I am anti Apple (over priced and always behind the newest technology) at least they did keep their exterior size and plug placements the same

Now see the double din mods ive seen before, they have had to cut the top an bottom since the dash only has a 80mm opening in height, where most dd head units are 100mm. And that falls right in to the wood trim, cause honestly id have no problem just filling the sides to match original plastic.

And as i sit here and look at it with dash off, where the extra space is on the mount is at the top, which would mean that i would need to cut the top of the trim, which is just a .5in of between the headunit and ccenter vents.

Oh yeah, and tablets will run you the same price as a double din, look it up. I found some great prices on some double dins that do it all. Oh yeah, and apple sucks.

Lol....this thread doesnt bother me. Its my job to assist and help amongst other things. Im big into car audio and full customizations so i try to help where i can.

The new Tegra 3 processor tablets are just becoming avail. Their benchmark scores are more than impressive and to be honest, I am jealous i do not have one.

Double din chassis are 180x100mm. Without seeing your dash, i am assuming the entire piece is wood grain as it was in my dads older Ram. But going back to the Dakota i did, its pretty much the exact piece but the radio is at the top rather than at the bottom. Because there is not much room to play with, the modification has to be precise and accurate.

Now do you think i should go hit up a junk yard and grab another dash, and go ahead and take a crack at it, or pay the money for the precise and accurate?

Well i can tell you I have a lot of bezels sitting here guys have sent to me wanting to fix or resurrect because they jacked them up. Whats funny is most of them

You can price a local yard but price ebay also.

I used to post pics of them from time to time depending on how bad it was. Here is one recently

Oh no, that sucks. Thats why i was going to go to a junk yard first and pick one that looked good, and try it on that first, and if it turns out ill just swap them out, if not...oh well theres $10 for a little fun. And besides i doubt the wife will let me have any play money till after the family vacation. So im doing my homework on it now.

All double DIN are the same size. Its an industry set standard and cannot vary. Just like all single DINs are the same size.

Says it comes with steering remote but to be honest, Ive had one which was the one I linked above and it was not only a PITA to program but was chit IMO. Ill take my wireless remote any day of the week.

As for that double DIN listed above, Ive had a few that I bought and resold and none ever had any issues. I used one for a bench model for a long time
That's a good price Thanks
