http://engine-codes.com/p0753_dodge.html

- Faulty shift solenoid valve
- Shift solenoid valve harness or connectors
- Shift solenoid valve circuit is open or shorted
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid

It would be best to check the connections and wires that go to your shift solenoids.

It sounds like a bad leak detection pump

This fix requires a new governer pressure sensor and solenoid

+1 on checking your connections at top of the transmission case.

Thanks master tech, ive realized that my conections on top of my transmission case does'nt clip together, i must of not put my solenoid's harness right as i put my valve body back, also i couldnt remove my valve body completely, because of the parking prawl, how do i remove the parking prawl? Does my car have to be on neutral?
What are step by step procedures to removing my valve body, i could really use the tips especially since i had already dropped the pan, i dont want to make a mistake and have to go back, thanks

Update: so i thought it would be usefull to my fellow durango owners that i fixed my problems, no check engine light whatsoever, i spent $200 on a website called cascade transmission parts, i bought the master solenoid rebuild kit, came with shift and lock up solenoids, speed sensor, governor solenoid, pressure sensor, gaskets &filter and spring upgrade, (for 1999 durango 46re transmission 5.2l v8). After i replaced my solenoid and sensors i put everything back together and filled up my transmission with 8 quarts of atf+4, It even shows u how to remove your valve body and replace your solenoids on youtube, that fixed my p0753, then i switched my transmission relay in my engine compartment fuse box and that fixed my p1765 problem, now the problem i have is that my overdrive button hasnt been working so my overdrive is off, how do i fix it?

First, i will start off by saying that the 1999 D with the 5.2L came with a 44RE from the factory. The 46RE only came on the 5.9L engines so if you do indeed have a 46RE then you have a 5.9L engine or you got EXTREMELY lucky to but a truck where someone did the swap. The parts you replaced work in both trans but, i would double check what trans you have before ordering any more parts for it because there are some things that are not the same in each.

Second, by saying your overdrive is off does that mean there is a light in your gauge cluster saying "OD OFF" that is lit or are you refering to "off" as its not going into overdrive?

And today i was driving and again my car just shuts off and locks up, my rpm goes to zero, my speedometer goes to zero even my gas meter goes to E, then a check engine light will come up and out of no where mysteriously my gas peddle stars the car right back up and my meters go back to as if nothing happened, my check engine light disappears, at times it just shutsdown but it stars right up it got me going crazy man
