Well the stock size for these trucks on the 17" rims was 275/65R17. Since you have switched to a 265/70R17 it is approximately 1.5" taller than stock which may cause it to rub on full lock. While it is slightly narrower the added height will cause it to rub on some areas inside the wheel well. Your options, being that I am guessing you are stuck with the tires, would be to grind down, or bend the areas where it rubs. If it is in fact rubbing on the bumper screws themselves there is not much you can do to counter that. Hope this helps!

Going from a 275/65/17 to a 265/70/17 would be going from a 31.07" to 31.61" height. Only a total gain of half an inch. So its no that much bigger than stock.

That would be correct if I did not have a typo in the stock size. (My apologies for that) The stock size is 275/60R17 which is 30" tall, that is where the 1.5" comes from.

Ah, gotcha now. Still odd for the with rubbing considering most of us run slightly bigger tires as well without issue.

Did you bump something with your bumper previously? Maybe the steel support is buckled a bit and pushing the bumper cover back.

Yea I agree it puzzles me as well that they don't fit. They technically should fit, but that varies from vehicle to vehicle. Back when these trucks first came out many people with the 17" rims switched to this size over stock since tires in this size were much more affordable. That being said 10-13 years of wear and tear could easily affect the fitment. However, I agree with SJ02 and I would check to make sure the bumper is not sagging or pushing back into the wheel well.

I'm surprised those are rubbing too. 31x10.5R15 tires were available from the factory and those are only .6 of an inch taller, but maybe that makes the difference.

Check the suspension? Maybe it got weak and your ride height may have dropped slightly but enough to cause the rubbing?

Another thing you need to be aware of. A taller tire to throw your speedometer off so your actual speed will be faster than what the speedometer is saying.

My R/T, using several brands of GPS's, they all show that I am about 2 mph faster than what my speedometer is showing. And I am using OEM sized tires.

You can also look at these tires that I am personally using and the price is not expensive and they are long lasting.

BFGoodrich Long Trail Touring T/A's 275/60/17:

My 60k miles are almost up for my 1st set of the BFG LT T/A's. Waiting for Costco/Sam's to have another $70 off special to get them replaced with a 2nd set.
