I hope you gents didn't lead me astray, I went with your recommendation with the clear lights. What is the install like on these? They didn't come with any directions whatsoever, I find that a little iffy. Im sure I can figure it out, i just dont know if I want to wait until it gets warmer if it takes a few hours.
Removing the stock ones is dead easy. Use a torx driver (t-10 believe) to remove the 1 screw from each turn signal housing (its in the gap between the headlight and turn signal) then the turn signal housing pulls straight off. Then remove the 3 (10mm) bolts from each headlightn then it'll come right off. If you got the 2 piece lights do the same but in reverse. If you got the 1 piece ones you'll probably have to reach up from under the front bumper to tighten the bolts.
Sweet doesnt sound too difficult. I heard somewhere you might have to remove the bumper. What do you think about putting some type of sealant around the light as a sort of extra protection against moisture?
Nope, you definitely don't need to remove the bumper. I don't think the silicone is necessary. If you do anything extra to them I'd recommend some UV blocking film to put on them (it'll prevent them turning yellow over time). I got a roll for around 10 bucks on ebay.
It takes me less than 5 minutes to remove my headlights.
Tho I have the OEM setup. Those 1pc headlights are junk and a PITA to install.
Oh thats right, I forgot the OEM was 2pc. 2pc lights are a breeze, just pull the corners off (if they arent secured with screws) and unscrew the bolts. Reverse the process for installation.
