Do I have a 4.7 or a 5.9?
The reason i ask.... i have always been under the impression that I was the owner of a 2003 4.7 liter SXT Durango, Reading up on Dodge engines today, I came across a post on the internet that the only "Magnum" for 2003 was the 5.9 liter. And the 4.7 was labeled "Powertech"
My air box is stamped "Magnum".... so, do I have a 5.9 or a 4.7?
Very proud Durango owner by the way.... I built a homemade cold air Intake with K & N filter and added a Flowmaster exhaust.... Love my rig... and the fact that it absolutely hauls ***.

Just look at the engine. Look at the exhaust manifolds. The 4.7 has each cylinder fed into an exhaust port separately
The 5.2/ 5.9 and all earlier V8s like the 318/ 360 and even all big blocks had the front two cylinders individual, but the middle two ports are paired together. Also on the 4.7, there are two big bumps on the front of each valve cover / head for the cam drives
Below is 4.7 exhaust gasket........4 individual ports
The photo below is 5.2/ 5.9 LA or Magnum Notice how there appears to be "3 ports" This is because you have two end ports and the middle two are paired
There are surely other differences, but that is easy to spot
