Default 4.7 cranks but no start

alright so i just did a head gasket replacement on my durango i have put everything back together except for the radiator is not in and i have no coolant in the motor.
the 4.7 was running before i pulled it apart and when i crank it, it sounds fine but it will not start. i have tried spraying ether in the intake i hear the fuel pump turning on. all of my grounds on the block and heads are on good. i have not replaced the crank or cam sensor only because i would like to rule out every other possibility first.

my biggest question is, does the radiator being off and no coolant being in the motor have anything to do with it? i have hoses coming in the mail thats the only reason i havnt put the radiator on yet but if this is the cause of it that would be great honestly.

Nope. PCM doesn't care if there is coolant or not. Don't run it very long that way. Coolant not only cools the motor, but, it also lubricates the water pump. Don't wanna smoke that before you even get to drive it.

Sounds like you are missing spark. Is the crank sensor plugged in??

See if you are getting any spark. Just pull one of the coils, plug a spark plug into it, ground it out somewhere, (NOT with you hands. ) Crank the engine, see what ya get. (a second body would be helpful here.)

Test more than one coil. If you don't get spark on two of 'em, it's likely you aren't getting spark on any of them. Make sure you are getting power TO the coils as well.

But it won't fire even on ether?? That's just downright strange.

Is the timing correct?
