Default one fog light out

Noticed a few times on my 2002 Durango, the passenger side fog light would not work, I would just reach under and twist the wire harness going to it to make sure it was properly seated into the back of the fog light and it would come back on and stay on for a couple of weeks, then it would do it again. Well now today it won't come on at all now. Tried a new bulb and still no dice. The driver's side fog works just fine along with the running lights and everything...so it can't be the fuse right? Something up with the wiring going into that fog light? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Put a meter on the plug. See if it's live there.

More than likely, the connection was bad and arching. Each time you would mess with it, it would spark the connection for a bit until it got cold again. Over time, this probably burnt out the connection. I bet if you look at the plug, you will see it is toasty. It is possible to be saved. Just depends on how bad it is. I've cleaned them out with electronics cleaner and a wire brush before and mixed in some dielectric grease and they were good to go again. Just depends on how bad. Hopefully you won't have to actually replace it.

Thanks guys for the replies, I don't have a meter or anything to test the connection, I'll probably have to take it somewhere for that. though I think before I do that I'll go Calamity's Coyote's route and try cleaning out the connection. I know I have some of that grease lying around as well. I mean, the truck is almost 20 years old...stuff like this is bound to happen but I really like using my fogs..especially in the morning when it's dark out.

Me too. I use them as running lights.

Those are really nice fog lights you got there, I also switched mine out for LED's. Well I hope my problem is something simple. Will try to get to it this coming up weekend.

I see you have the same drive train as me, All I have ever done to this motor is change the plugs and oil at regular intervals...runs like a top. Never gives me any troubles.
