Not running on all cylinders
Hello all,
I have a 2000 Dodge Durango 4.7L V8 4x4 Automatic that is not running on all cylinders. I had my mechanic friend over and while it was running pulled off and put back the coil pack connectors one at a time and all the drivers side ones did not make a difference in idle until I got to the passenger side and pulling number 6 and 8 coil pack wire made it idle even worse. The whole passenger side may be working fine. Not only does it barely run at idle but also runs rough under throttle. It's the strangest thing because it ran fine one day then the next day I started it and it ran horribly.
Things I have done to try and remedy the situation:
1. Pulled air cleaner off and checked for clogs etc.
2. Checked all air hoses on top of engine bay.
3. Checked all wire connections and wires for burn marks, stripped & broken wires.
4. Hooked up a code reader but there is no code and no check engine light before I started doing the coil wire tests

Thanks guys for your replies. I'll look into those things. I did just change the plugs about 2 months ago now to Bosch non-platinum plugs that I got from Rockauto and it ran fine till now. I suppose I can check them out though especially since I need to do a compression check.
**Update** "Fuel Injector 2 circuit Open P0202" is the code that just came up from a check engine light that finally appeared after my main mechanic told me to drive it around my driveway for awhile in hopes the light would appear. It took a good 10 minutes but it finally showed up. I guess I'll be buying a new injector from Rockauto for about $25. Thanks everyone for your help!!

**Another Update** I replaced the fuel injector and it still runs very poorly, it can barely stay running at idle. I tested the old injector and got about 12 Ohms resistance. After clearing the check engine light it shows now a different check engine light code of "no vehicle speed sensor p0500". It seems to be running rich and pours fuel out of the exhaust and many of the plugs are black. Some are dry and black, some wet and black. This is so confusing to me, it's like the check engine light is not giving me the right codes. I don't know if the ECM/PCM is faulty or wiring issue or what. Anyone else have any other ideas?
Tomorrow I'll be cleaning the TPS and IAC sensors with cleaners to try and solve this issue but I don't know if that will help any.

I wish my scanner could. I just have that "FIXD" scanner that connects to a mobile device to show you codes.

You can only do so much with the free version of FIXD. I'll clean the computer connector.
Today I cleaned the IAC valve and PCV Valve and neither fixed the issue. Also checked out more wiring in the engine bay and there's nothing out of the ordinary that I could find. Another thing I did was check the temp gauge to see if the coolant temp sensor was working right as in another forum someone mentioned that a bad one could cause fuel injector issues with the ECM/PCM and would show up as an erratic moving gauge but the gauge displayed as normal - slowly went up as the engine temp did.
