Default Oil in Spark Plug hole 4.7

I have an 02 Dodge Durango with the 4.7 engine with high miles. After sitting for a while a blueish tint smoke comes out the exhaust. The engine is for sure misfiring and when i changed spark plugs and coils i noticed spark plug in cylinder 3 was covered in oil and coming out the spark plug hole. How do i fix this issue? I have not seen any info or How to videos out there, any help would be great. i was told i might have a bad pistion or oil ring?

Probably just a seal between the spark plug hole, and valve cover. If it's leaking, oil will accumulate in there, and when you pull the plug, it all goes into the cylinder.

The spark plug holes are away and separate from the valve cover. Maybe the plug wasn't tight enough or got removed a few times and the crush seal was no longer effective. The blue smoke is probably from worn valve stem seals. That would contribute to extra oil being in the combustion chamber and getting past a loose plug as well. Replaced mine a few years back and no more oil loss or smoke. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...tem-seals.html

Now looking at this pic, technically, if a valve cover seal is leaking at a certain spot, the oil could drain into the spark plug hole, so you'd be right in that sense.

Thanks for that updated advice. And when the coil/plug is tightened down I can wiggle the coil..it doesn't seem to be as snug as the others..

Which cylinder is it misfiring on? The resulting code should tell you. You can try swapping the coil pack of the misfiring cylinder to another cylinder. If the misfire moves with it, you need to replace that coil pack.
Edit: Just reread and you said you did change coil packs. Still try that.

There's a significant amount of oil on the bottom of #3 cylinder spark plug..I don't think it's leaking from valve covers..

Do you have high oil consumption between changes?

Put some dye in your oil. Drive it for a couple days. Inspect with a UV flashlight. Any leaks will be instantly obvious.
