RE: speakers
Hello all, I believe what 02silverdurango is referring to are the two vents in the back of the Durango on each side. They look like speaker grills, but are just vents, with a rubber or plastic flap on the inside of them. Those are just there to relieve the pressure inside of the truck when you slam a door, so your windows dont blow out. Hope that helps.

RE: speakers
Hey guys, I need to open up a bit of an older topic on speakers...I have a 2000 D and need to replace all 4 speakers in the doors. I know they are 2 ohm and was going to replace them with a pair of Infinity Kappa 62.7i in the doors. As I was laying the credit card down the guy decides to look up the vehicle to make sure they will fit ( which I saw lots of people in other threads say that they were a great replacement. ) and then he tells me that because I have the infinity system with the amp and all that.... that I would have to replace everything ( head unit with an aftermarket, amp with after market and the speakers along with a complete rewire of the whole stereo system ) if I want to put the 62.7i in the doors.....I told him there was no way i was doing that....does that sound like a load of crap to you guys also? I am prepared to just buy them on the internet for half of what i was going to spend and just try them.

RE: speakers
if its a 2000 with the infinity, do you have only 4 speakers or 6? this will make the difference.
if you have 6, with the tweeters up front, you need 2 ohm components in the front and 2 ohm coaxils in the rear. you'd be fine using those kappas you mentioned for the rear. as long as they are two ohm. for the front door, you'll have to replace the woofer and the tweeter, so go with these! Infinity Kappa 60.7cs. they sound nice, but dont buy them from these guys they are crooks. get back to me whether you have the 4 or 6 speaker set up. rewiring the whole system is a bunch of BS. ...i'm a stereo installer...
