Default ok so im confused,, well i was looking at spuds pictures and...

and i was looking at his engine and the turbo is in the back which was weird to me cuz i really know nothing about the turbo to me it looks as if it sucks air out?? cuz it looks like its hooked ot exhaust manifold in which i thought it hooked to the intake manifold becuz it forces air into the engine Correct? i really know nothing except it makes your car fast
so does it go from there and hook to the tb or what??

OMG where to start!

The exhaust from the engine drives a turbine in the turbo that drives a compressor on the other side of the turbo which BLOWS Air into the Engine. Both the turbine and the compressor run off the same shaft which ishow the exhaust drives the compressor. The Waste Gate on a Turbo keeps theexhaustinside the turbo so that it spins the turbine that turns the compressor and then after the PSI limit has been reached itallows exhaust to be exited out the exhaust system as it normally would without a turbo once the air pressureis at its limit for the engine, the limit is whatever you set it at or what ever the factory sets it at, You increase power when your PSI limit is higher, so when you increase PSI (Poundsper Square Inch) which also increases powerwhats actually going on is exhaust is being kept inside of the turbo so that it spins the compressor wheel faster.

Please research on your own. As simple as how a TURBO works could be found in a lot of places. You must be really new to everything, cause almost every question that you asked on this forum, is so fricken simple to answer. All you have to do is do a little research, then you wont sound so NEWBISH, you know? You have almost 900 posts and you still ask the simplest questions. C'MON.

im just shy of 10,000 posts
but anyways.....
look at the pic..
the turbo is connected to the exhaust manifold....as stated alredy the exhasut air turns the turbine inside the turbo......on the other end of the turbine shaft is what looks like a propellor.......its on the left side in that pic.....well, an air filter hooks onto that propellor port....so it sucks air in there, the propellor turns the air and shoots it out of the turbo (the port on the bottom)....when the intercooler pipe is hooked onto the bottom port of the turbo then the air goes from the turbo....into the pipe....follows it to the intercooler....out of the intercooler....through more pipe....then to the throttle body...

basically a turbo is powered off of the exhaust gasses.......the more exhaust gasses, the fasted the turbine spins.....therefor the more air that goes into the throttle body....

exhaust fumes go out the tail pipe.
