SRT Turbo Checklist

RE: SRT Turbo Checklist
i put the blue r/t on ebay and it still has a little over 3 days on the auction.....so far its at 510.00 but there are 40 watchers.....i just hope i can get what i want out of it so i can get the rest of the turbo stuff.....
i would rather turbo a neon more then just getting a daytona......i like the neons body style alot more then a daytona.....
of course, the guy down the street from me with the neon r/t has a dodge shadow turbo in his garage with about 400hp

RE: SRT Turbo Checklist
here is a list of everything needed for the srt-dohc turbo kit....this list is just the needed stuff for a simple installation, below i will list the extra stuff that i got and would be a nice upgrade:
srt turbo/manifold
srt intercooler....do not waste the money on an ebay intercooler because they dont work very well
srt downpipe/cat. convertor
srt hot/cold side intercooler pipes...i got them because it will be easier to run through the radiator support
srt oil/coolant lines....coolant line isnt needed, but it is good to have for safety purposes
srt 02 housing
blow off valve....i have the mopar plate style because i got it with the turbo, but i like how it looks...plus its a mopar
walbro 255 lph external fuel pump
2.5" aluminum intercooler pipe kit....nothing over 2.5" is necessary with the srt turbo
aeromotive fuel pressure regulator...dont go cheap on this
map clamp
fuel return line
misc. vaccum lines
misc. fittings
oil ending unit T fitting
other stuff i got:
3 gauge piller pod....dont need 3, but i like gauges
srt boost gauge...or any boost gauge
autometer electric oil pressure gauge.....
autometer air/fuel gauge
AGP adjustable wastegate.....the stock wastegate only supports about 6psi, so it isnt exactly needed, but its nice for tuning purposes
new timing belt and pulley set....i would recomment changing this because if yours is old then the added power can brake the belt
new water pump
new clutch....stock neon clutch cant handle alot of power
walbro 255 lph intake pump module....bought on accident but figured i would replace it while its out
NGK iridium spark plugs
new intake manifold gasket
new exhaust manifold gasket
2.5" exhaust piping.....helps for the added exhaust flow
now, in order for this to work you need to:
modify the oil pan with a fitting for the oil return line from the turbo
modify the fuel pump for the return line.....(spoolboy mod)
you need to extend the upstream 02 sensor wires about 4 inches
trim the radiator support to run the intercooler pipes through it
trim the front of the battery tray to run the intercooler pipe to the throttle body
you need to cut the tabs off the front bumper that bolt it to the bottom of the metal bumper
total i spent so far is about $1500.00 including the extras....the bare essentials, will run about $800.00-$900.00
i will post pics of the work in progress when its underway and do a step by step, if anyone thinks of anything i missed, feel free to add
