they did...but they are few and far between it seems!

 

i though all 1st gen neons came with tape/radio decks

you could order a CD player for $400 I think it was...

 

a stock cd player???? i know all the r/t's ive had came with them.....
any dodge cd player from any vehicle up until 2000 will work in a neon.....caravans are the easiest way to find one....i used to go to the junkyard and pick up all the stock chrysler cd players and sell them on ebay.....i would suggest looking there, they usually go for about 100.00-120.00

 

my first 98 R/T had a cassette, the one I just bought I think has the stock player.

 

My 99 Sport came with a CD player.

They fit, but mount differently though.

 

no, most mount exactly the same.......anything from early 90's to 2000....after 2000 they have a 4 screw mounting and a curved front......the am/fm radio thats in the blue r/t for the sale came out of my 93 dakota...the one i had in my red r/t for a while was from my 98 durango......i got one from a 95 avenger with the infinity sound that worked great......but anyways, you can look at them and tell if they fit....the wire clips and mounting were the same for most of them.....i put a stock cd player from my first neon in my step dads 1985 dodge full size van

like i said, check ebay, or if you need one i know that i can get one for you...though shipping would probally be alot

 

I have a 1998 that I just bought last year (2nd owner). It has a factory stock C/D player in it. It sounds pretty good too.

Now for a question for the group. Where does the Neon like to develop oil leaks at? Mine seems to be leaking from somewhere and I can't find out where.
