Default which way to go guys

Hey all, Im new to this Forum so forgive me if any of my MANY Questions are in a prev. post.
I Saved a 96 neon,2dr, 5-speed from the scrap heap. It has a l bad sohc in it now, dont know to what extent have always planned on a swap but to which.
I have a dohc for real cheap 150.00 mid miles on it only needs a throttlebody. I was thinking about a 2.4 swap what benefits are there to this swap and how hard to find performance parts for it. but I will prob go with the 2.0 for ease of install. I want to make it as unique as possible as cost effective as possible and as reliable as Im able. I can get a T-3 for with cast man. would like tubular (any ideas). Where should I spend money from here with max cost-performance increase, Fuel pump would prob. be an essential since the tank is already off (Where and $?)should I move on to the injectors and PSI reg. and complete the fuel system or is there a more cost effecient upgrade. Since I will be pulling the engine what about the clutch plate Id like to swap to a mid level clutch seeing as my wife will undoubedly want to learn to drive a standard (IT)... [:'(] aaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!...LOL Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated...

for starters I would just go with a 2.4 with the DOHC head. P&P it out and then get the 2.4 block filled with srt4 internals, that way when you put a turbo on you will be safe! Just use a srt4 turbo set up to complete the turbo system.

If the tank is already out go on ebay and get a walbro 255 fuel pump. They are cheaper then factory replacements. Then once you have the turbo in place get 24lb injectors to finish it off. then put the car on a trailor and take it to the tune shop and get a good safe tune...200whp easy!

The advantage of a 2.4 engine swap would be more torque and HP capabilty.

What about aftermarket parts for the 2.4 ie. intake man. (cant even find for 2.0) I just dont want to find myself ordering a no refund part and have it not fitting my 1off.. then what were all the mods to make the 2.4 fit?? I have a list cause I have been looking into it once again I dont want to get into it and have some bad info. Has anyone out there done the 2.4 swap? What was your cost, parts list etc.? Does someone have a verified assembly procedure and parts list?

Not to dismiss this idea (it is one Ive been pondering) but more to check all my options. What about building the SOHC block up to DOHC.

I appreciate any and all input... thank you

The Following postis a list of instructions I found not too long agoon a 2.4 swap. Does it appear to be correct, any corrections or addaptations to note?

the only mods on the intake would be to buy an INDY for a 2.0 or an extrude hone for a 2.0, they are just a taller block really. Almost everything that goes on a 2.0 can go on a 2.4

What about performance parts for the 2.0 dohc any recomendations??? Preffer as always the B4B (Bang for Buck Ratio)
I think for now I am just gonna go with the 2.0 DOHC with the intent of later using the 2.4 since alot of the parts are interchangeable... So Ill go for the easier of the 2 installs. Not to mention cost... This way Ill get a chance to locate and build up a 2.4 the way I want it...
Any ideas on a clutch Id like to go with a durable one first off (My wife will probebly learn to drive this car).... AAGGHH[:'(]

Alot of people recommend a PT Cruiser clutch, and that is the clutch I intend to put on my car when it needs it!
