There are no performance gains to bloccking off your EGR valve. For the code, you can pull the EGR valve off and cleaning it up. Most of the time the transducer is what goes bad though.

if you hollow out your cat you will start throwing codes, they sell an eliminator for it or I think you can tune that code off.

It's easier to just get a few extra 02 "bung" nuts that will thread onto the O2 sensor, and then you can hollow out the cat and just space the O2 sensor about 1/2-3/4" away from the pipe (by welding a few nuts together, and welding them to the original O2 bung) and it will slow down the amount of exhaust passing by the sensor, making it read as though it had the restriction of a cat, which slows the exhaust.

I had a stainless catless pipe on a previous neon and there is very little performance gain, not even worth it, all it does is make the car TOO noisey!

i loved the gutted cat on my car.....i just cut mine out and put a piece of straight pipe in there....then welded the new bungs to it and never had a problem with the check engine light.....

Your taillight gaskets may be leaking, letting the water in. Have you checked your truck in the spare tire area??

drill small holes in the taillights to get the condensation and the water will eventually come out.
