RE: Well, my account is gone, so here we go...
first six pics are the medium first coat and second heavy coat...
this is what happens when someone turns off the air compressor and leaves and your air pressure drops to nothing while your painting...
next 7 pics are the final coat and letting it sit to dry....
not too bad for my first ever painting of a car, runs will buff out along with a final buffing to smooth it all out.
car is a bright white tho, pictures dont do it justice! cant wait til it is all done and dry and all the masking is off (taillights, door handles, ect)

just plain buffing wont get those runs out.....you need some 600 or 800 grit and wetsand them out.....you may have to reclear that section if you sand too much....but if you dont then the buffing compound should bring the shine back--just thought id put my .02 in since im majoring in auto body repair & paint

lol, it's a single stage paint, and if i used that rough of a grit, i would be repainting it. i think i will stick to the 1k-1500 grit paper and buff it out like i have been told by my auto body friend who has his own business n all. sand it with the really super fine paper, then using a buffer, buff to a nice sheen along with the rest of the car to give the paint a nice even surface instead of the little "fisheyes" that occur on single stage paint.
i have no doubt you know your stuff, but 800 grit will do nothing but take the paint right off and need to be spot repaired, no thanks on that, i have til the 7th of april to get this all done and still have a few more things to do like get the brakes figured out, battery tie down, boost turned up and tuned, ect.
