I have a 95 neon sport coupe with a dohc motor and standard trany. I like to fix it up for drag raceing on the weekends and was wondering if u guys could tell me what the best 5 speed trany is for it my number on the trany is 4670234. I plan on turboing the car also

 

for now youll wanna go with the acr or rt tranny but hold on to your sport tranny for when you get your turbo runnin

 

You wouldn't happen to know what the part number is for a standard r/t or acr trany and a ruff price for a used one would be? I have alot of work to do to the car to whole front frame structure is siting agianst the motor

 

If you look at the part# he provided, you'd see he already has the same tranny that is in the R/T and ACR's...the 3.94 tranny with the 0.81 5th gear.

The best tranny for a turbo application is the 3.55 tranny which has part # 4670235 and should cost you anywhere from $50-$150 depending on the seller. I just sold my 3.55 tranny for $100.

 

my bad i thought the sport was the 3.55. did they run with both or just the 3.94

 

Well the 95 DOHC's got the 3.94 tranny.

i sold my old r/t tranny for $200.00
but the sohc tranny i just got for my r/t cost me $250.00

 

I know I could have probably gotten more, but I wanted it gone.

 

How much of a difference will i noticed with the 3.55 trany then the 3.94 trany with a turbo at the drag strip will it increance my time by a good bit and with i still be able to drive it on the roads?
