Default A/c ??

this past week i installed new compressor,condensor,drier,hoses,expansion valve,on my 93 d150 5.2.
took it to a good shop to have them charge it with r134a,worked good monday, tuesday, wednsday on my way home from work,it would not turn on hot air for 27mi. in 100 degree heat{that sucks]
so i stopped by the a/c shop on my way home.they checked it out no leaks. then it started to work??
they said maybe electrical problem, anyone know what to look for??
i spent way to much money so far,so i would rather see if i could fix it myself. it just seem like it will work when it wants to,i need it to be more reliable. thank you

Curious? How much did you spend?

If your freon is not low or anything I would check the switch. My dads truck has a similar problem where sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. Idk if its his switch or something else but its been like that for years now.

Hey Aje,

I did some quick searches about your AC problem and two things keep coming up over and over again while I was reading. WOT relay and AC transducer. The Wide Open Throttle relay turns the compressor off for full throttle and could be faulty. The other item, transducer, I didn't find a good explaination for. Might be something to look into. Hope this helps. I know it's tough once you've dropped your money at one place but you might consider a second opinion.

This is some killer heat wave we are in early this summer. When I get in my car about 5 pm, the steering wheel is so hot you can barely touch it. I even stick my sunglasses in the AC vent to cool them down before I put them on. Good Luck with your AC.
