You might not be getting enough fuel into the bowl of your TQ. Granted, I've never had my 76 up a hill before.

if i were to get a intake manifod and a better carb like the avenger (wich is a 4barrel and mine is a 2) first off would a 4 barrel carb work with my engine since mine is the 2 barrel.

secondly would it get me some more power?

what would be a good set up for carb n intake manifold for offroading

A 4 bbl would work wonderfully as I have a factory Carter ThermoQuad. Are you SURE it's a 2 bbl?

And yes, a 4 bbl with an aftermarket intake will make you more power.

Your kickdown linkage going from the throttle to the transmission is likely out of adjustment. I would try adjusting it so that it doesn't push back as far. Your truck is probably shifting like you are flooring it.

yea i believe i got one i can take a picture and upload if youd guys like. i also made a noooob mistake i didnt add a cork gasket under the pan gasket so i now have to take it off to put gasket on there cause there is a vapour leak which causing my truck to bogg at full throttle so thats coming off soon here and then finally installing the rest of parts i bought so just (valve covers and high performance spark plug wires) but if i just put a pan gasket on do i have to get a new one or can i still use it?
