Better to replace the gasket. They like blowing up after reusing them.

HELP! lol round 2 of re installing this time with cork gaskets aswell and found were there was a leak and made sure there was is enough so i put cork one down then gasket and then the other cork one with the silicon stuff. and put the intake manifold on and the bolts wont line up... one side willl and friggin the other side middle ones will not we tried for a hour trying to gett those in. what could be the problem? it fit before is it because there is to many gaskets or something causeing it not to line up anymore or engine kinda warm still maybe its expanded or something cause im only off by litterally a say a milimeter but bolts will not go in...

nvm that it just had one to many gaskets its all good now execpt still dealing with boggig when the 4bbl kick in but i just gotta tune the carb its a common problem with the thunder series edelbrock and hopefully thats it. if not then could it bogg from lack of fuel or to much? if so how to fix it? what you guys think i know i bought the wrong intake manifold but i gotta deal with it (made for cars or high hp vehicles still makes alot more power then when it was a 2bbl)

Also i got rusted rear wheel wells what would be the esiest best thing to do cut them out make wheel well bigger? or attempt to bondo.. its a big hole so i dunno what to do if i could find some 91 stock power ram fender flares that they have on the w250's that would cover most of it up anyone know were to get those?

If you cut them out, and make them bigger, they will likely grow even bigger.

If you patch them with bondo, they'll be good for a few years, but will probably need done again.

If you cover them with fender flares, the rust will definitely grow bigger.

If you cut out the rust all the way to clean metal and have something like what's in the link below welded in, you can then smooth the seam with bondo yourself. You should be in good shape at least until the rest of the body needs a full redo down the road this way.

so i tuned my carb everything is good and my truck is bogging at full throttle what could it be? usually once the 4bbl kick in it boggs.. i have a cold thermostate so my truck never gets hot.. could that be a reason? how long till your motor is warmed up to be able to romp on it? is too much fuel going in or not enough? my timing was done about 2 weeks ago after it was all installed the first time. just bit confused

A cold thermostat . . . are we talking 180, or 160, or there isn't one? If you are running a 160 degree or less thermostat, it may never warm up.

i think im running tho lowest out there due to how hott our summers get here i could be wrong but i was told when winter comes im going to want to get a different one. but would that be the cause of bogging cause ive had a carbed motor before and its kinda acting like the motor isnt warmed up to perform its best and boggs when full throttle?

A 160 thermostat could be part of your problem. You can run a 180 in the winter.

i think i would recommend running a 195* in winter time. i ran a 180* this winter and it kind of sucked. only time i got decent heat out of my heater core was when i was sitting and idling and my temp gauge actually hit 200*.
