I'm sure the reason the wire was getting really hot is because there was only about 2 strands of wire that was making the connection. It was really corroded in the spot where it broke. What do you think about it? I really appreciate your input.

Drive it for a couple days, and let us know if it dies again. (let us know if it doesn't as well....)

Well it did good for a while and today it started the same thing. When it dies it acts like you're turning the key on and off repeatedly. The fuel pump runs and stops repeatedly. I can turn the switch off and back on and it stops doing that. With the switch off I unplugged the cam pos sensor and when I plug it back up with the switch on the fuel pump starts to run and stop repeatedly. It's got me plum puzzled. The check engine light is on but it's not showing any codes.

How are you checking codes? If you do the key dance you will still get a 55 meaning "end of codes".

I turn the switch on off on off and on. The check engine light goes off and that is it. It doesn't flash any codes. I know it's crazy but that is it.

on-off-on-off-on. Then it should flash codes. Supposedly you have to do that within three seconds......

11 Intermittent loss of cam or crank sensor.

54 No cam signal at PCM.

Have you changed the cam position sensor? (parts stores still call it the pick-up coil.... even though that is not what it does.)
