Well I installed the new switch which seems to function correctly and I’m still not getting any power to the instrument panel fuse.

I looked on my Haynes Manual for a wiring diagram but there wasn’t one like I figured. Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the interior lights?

There is no voltage to either side of the terminal in the cavity for the instrument panel fuse. So my problem would be before the fuse box, because I imagine the fuse is wired before the headlight switch….

i did post a picture of the headlight switch wiring. power for the dash lights goes through the headlight switch. you can try measuring resistance of the wire between the switch and dash or you could try bypassing the switch and powering the dash light wire. it should be the terminal that is on about a 30* angle compare dot the others.

are you sure this is not a broken wire? to me it looks like it could be the tan 18 gauge wire that goes from the headlight switch to the fuse panel.

Wire isn’t broken. I cut back the wiring harness a bit and confirmed that light brown wire was not cut. That strand in the photo was a little rolled up piece of electrical tape that had been there for years. Someone was in here before I was!

By the grace of God, the wiring diagram you sent, and the 4/5 hours I spent watching videos about automotive electrical and wiring diagrams, I fixed it somehow.. Lights work.

lol. maybe it was just a bad connection somewhere that got fixed by moving something. as long as it is working that is all that matters.
