LOL
My 08 doesn't quite need to have the rotors turned yet, but thanks for the info.

Interesting information indeed! However, my 2008 Avenger has an infrequent "BRAKE" light on the dash come one for a few seconds and then, it disappears.

I took it last week for an Oil Change and no one found anything....of course the regular mechanics that look into diagnostics where not there as I came rather late but, they wanted big bucks to place the vehicle on some diagnostic machine!

I will take it to the Auto Parts place and see what their hand held diagnostic device says as far as trouble codes, if any.

Stay tuned.

Hello!

Hey, guapoman2000, I just got an 08 Avenger and am having that brake light issue as well. Did you find anything out?

gami,

No I have not but, the dang BRAKE LIGHT comes on anytime I get off from a highway ramp that requires a tight turn to the right and comes on with the usual audio tone and RED LIGHT on the dash.

I did see the BRAKE light on the dash when I turned the wheels to the dead ends in a parking lot as well.

I am convinced that this is a sensor mounting issue and not because the brakes needs replacing.

I will again attempt to have it checked by the dealer soon!

Check the brake fluid level, if it is on the low line, time for a brake inspection and possible brake job.

If no problem found and fluid level is good, Replace the Brake Fluid Level Switch, I've seen this problem few times on journey, Avengers, sebrings, Caliber, etc...

Thank you! Will check switch as I don't believe my Brake Fluid level is low enough to cause the senor to trip but, if so, it must be a really sensitive sensor!

Dealer has been inspecting my brakes and my Avenger just turned 62,000 miles!
