Many thanks for the site you have made up for mygig owners. I just updated my unit a few weeks ago and appreciate it. I was trying to go back to the site to update my gracenote but, the site has been down for at least 2 or 3 days. Are we able to get back to the site? Hope to hear from you soon. Has anyone had luck installing the 2057 US/Mexico/Canada Gracenotes? I downloaded the file, burned the folder and file to a DVD named GN_2057, but my RER still won't recognize the DVD as an upgrade disk. It just says data in the Disc area and that's it.

 

They are touchy, You have to burn discs at 2x and make sure you close it so it can be read by other than a computer. That is usually the problem and depending on what software you used you might be able to put the disc back in and finalize it.
Or just make a new one, use Nero , burn at 2x and be sure to finalize.
I should admit I havent gotten it to work either I think my Nero is way too old, it is like 4 year old.

 

I'm on the Unofficial Site now, pulling down updates.

 

If you burn them at 2x and use a newer version of Nero and finalize the disc they say it should work...didn't for me but my burner is one of those combo Blue Ray viewer, DVD and CD burner viewer.

 

I have an RER with v 1.220 and Gracenotes 881. Do I need to install all of the updates between those versions and the most recent or can I just install the most recent updates?

i'm new to this forum, but finding it informative!! i recently bought a rer mygig, and installed it in my dodge ram...found futil's website and downloaded all the updates (my system is at gracenote 881, and v9.715) and burned them. when i place it in the rer unit, it says "reading disk" then it says "data" for the disk, but does not start to update. i followed futil's instructions, using winzip, and nero and burned at lowest possible speed, no multisession..etc, but i just can't get it to work. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance....

 

try burning different cds or on diff pc. try on xp system, might be if u on windows 7 it has a few issues on it.
