engine shuts down at stop sign/ light
i have a 2001 dodge dalota with 101000 miles and i have a problem with the engine shuting down at stop signs and stop lights, i have changed the IAC and still have the same problem, just want some input before i spend too much money, i need help
I would get a mechanic and go for a test drive. This will tell you everything that isn't working properly. It could be a possible number of things? Does it Stall or Does it Just Shut off? Maybe you have a bad wire connection somewhere? Coil? Distributer? Etc... Could be anything.
no codes, i have taken it to the dodge dealership and they suggested the IAC but it still does it, and it just shuts down, i will try the engine management relay and see what happens, i have been on other forums and they talked about the automatic shutdown relay but i don't know where it isor really what it does or affects, i have reacently changed the battery, the strange thing is i don't have a check engine light and can't get any codes to even point me in the right direction, still open to suggestion
Is it an automatic? Low tranny fluid can make the torque conveter stay in lockup mode and the idle speed at stop isn't enough to overcome the resistance.
