Default 03 R/T Info

Alright. I did have a previous thread about an 02 Dak Sport. I missed that oppurtunity because karma always bites you in the ***. I have my eye on a 2003 Dodge Dakota R/T with 90,000km. I have not had a chance to look at it, because it is in the next town over. It is loaded with everything. Regular cab with summer and winter tires. Both on rims. It is flame red. I am pretty sure that it is in good condition. Does anyone know how much this would run for? thanks for intput.

8-9 thousand assuming its in decent condition. you really should look into it, R/T's are hard to come by, especially regular cabs (which are faster).

That is American or Canadian Dollars?
Also any Dak is hard to come by in my neck of the woods. I live in Northern British Columbia. That is about 1200km North of Vancouver
It is also something I am drooling over because I might end up working in that town next week.

not faster, lighter. the engine and drivetrain are the same just less weight which makes them quicker in the 1/4. thats all. personally i passed on a RC just because i couldnt function w/o a back seat and the added cargo capacity. and i HATE 4 door pickups. just my .02.

So, since I am in Canada I would be looking at 11-13 thousand. Sounds reasonable if it is in good condition. Did the R/T come with the 4.7L or jsut the 5.9L?

Nevermind I found out that it is jsut the 4X2 5.9L. The Reg. Cab is a lot rarer than the Quad Cab I found too. Does anyone know how the 4X2 5.9L handles in the snow and ice. I always put weight in my truck, 4X4 or 4X2, so I am looking for how it would handle with a good set of winter tires.

HORRIBLE! ask any R/T owner, we all have a fit driving in the winter. IMO the truck is worth it tho, gotta love the R/T. a good set of winter tires (studded even) and some sandbags in the bed, and carry a shovel with you too.

EDIT: the 2nd gen R/T's were all 5.9, however, there is a 3rd gen R/T that has nothing but aesthetic modifications from the base model, which is a 4.7.

Ok. The 3rd Gen R/T is what I was thinking of with the 4.7L. So besides winter driving, the truck would be worth a very close look
