Default diesel conversion kit

where online can i go to find kits for putting a vw turbocharged diesel in my 1998 4 cyl. dakota??

nowhere and thats a stupid idea. why would want to put a **** engine in your truck? Do a 4bt cummins swap, there have been lots of people who have done that.

**** engines are actualy pretty good man but i do agree cummins is way better

4bt 3.9 cummins FTW!!!!


you can get the dirt cheap and the swaps are easy as hell. and you get get a bell housing to bolt it up to almost any tranny out there.

I was doing a 4bt swap in my 88 dak, but had to sell the motor since I just lost my job. I will definatly be goin at it again when I get some extra funds in the future!

and besides converting the trans on the VW motor to be RWD will be a toughy......since teh VW engien is out of a front wheel drive car......just go with the 4bt

tsk tsk loud,
the older 1.9l turbodiesel V-dubs.....
were rwd

but i agree, the vw motor will not have much guts to move a dakota, and the 4bts are easier to find and install

the bt in 4bt?
the 4b is the non turbo, the 4bt is the turbo model
not sure what the "b" is for other than just the model line

the B is for the engine family. The cummins B engines are the 3.9 I4, 5.9 I6, and the 6.7 I6 (5.9 and 6.7 are in the older/newer rams).
