Alrighty. Just finished final assembly of the motor itself. Here is an overview of what I did.

Completely disassembled
Everything took to machine shop to be acid bathed.
New brass freeze plugs to replace the steel ones
All new Main/Rod bearings, piston rings, and felpro gaskets throughout
Cylinders deglazed to a shine
Valves reseated
New oil pump, and 3piece timing gear set.
Purty new high temp engine paint

All thats left to do now is the swap itself! I will get started on it next saturday and hopefully itll be in by the following tuesday since i have sun, mon, and tues off. Wish me luck.

Nice man its looking good. I also use the Mopar filters, they sell them at wally world so I get them there. I heard a lot of bad things about Fram ones.

Good job not disconnecting the a/c. Some people make that mistake and take it out then realize they have to recharge it once they're done.

looks good. it's pretty simple from there one unless you run into some issues. aka a bad crank sensor or something stupid.

Thanks guys. I should have it running by the end of the day tomorrow. spent about 11 hrs on it today, and 8 on it yesterday. Im just getting the whole front assembly bolted back on, and gettin the hoses/wires back to where they go. It hasnt been to bad except for the goddamn starter. I broke 3 sockets, 2 ratchets and a swivel extension getting it off. I was finally able to get it after removing the exhaust manifold and steering shaft. It must be torqued to 500000000 ft/lbs from the factory. I decided I never wanna have to do that again so i bought a new starter to put in it.

I found out that my v6 throttle cable wont work with my v8 TB, so I need to goto the scrap yard tomorrow and pick a v8 one up.

Also while im down here its getting a new tranny filter and gasket too, since im pretty sure its never been done in 80k miles. Every plug from my v8 harness is working with the truck except for one, which i spliced the old one on to and am praying that it will work correctly.

Did you try an air impact and a half can of PB penetrator?
