Talking 06 motor swap in a 01

my dakota is going to be nasty after this. its an 06 HO motor with 34k on it. 30days till ill be tearing up the streets again. i will use this thread to post updates and photos.

will your harness work with this motor? and they made a 4.7 h.o motor? ive always had chevys and jeeps so i dont know much about a dodge.

well i know you could take just about any harness/motor combo and make it fit. i was just wonderin how much of a diff there was. and is that h.o motor a 4.7?

yes its an 4.7. i dont know the details of the harness swap, billy tried to explain it to me but it seems pretty easy. just swap my sensors to the new motor.

oh ok i hear that man. i know that if i dont figure out whats wrong with my motor im gonna rip it out and rebuilt it. and it i do that ill be swapin in a cam with mild portn on the heads a set of headers and see how she does then lol

good to hear ur gonna upgrade it while u can, getting it off ebay? i saw one that was the exact same as the one ur talking about for 1300

what yea planning on doin with ur old engine parting it out?

I will use Winston's current sensors on the new motor. Just like I moved his old MAP sensor to the new intake and removed the G3 NGC sensor.

The differences between the standard 4.7L and the H.O.

yes. and im giving it to billy as payment. he can make good money off the cams, intake mani, heads.
