I only went to 2 junk yards, after an inventory like this just from 2, i figure I can visit the others another day....

I walked through both lots on my own, no people over my shoulder, I just told them "I'm looking for any dodge trucks that have parts I can pick off" and they didn't care, just said be careful :P

I tried to take notes on what each truck had, but just made quick overscans, I didn't go digging for anything in particular.

First place is a "we pull it", the trucks are pulled apart and segregated- chassis in one pile, cabs in the dirt, engines, trans, doors on racks, axles in pile, ect.

2003 2500 cab only
1996 2500 cab only
1996 2500 cab only
2003 1500 cab only, gutted but with wiring
2001 Dakota cab only, PDC still on fender, quad cab gutted but with wiring
2003 2500 cab only gutted but with wiring
2007 3500 entire dash and wiring still there
???? Club cab with overhead console (didn't write if it was a ram or dako)
2003 dakota half of the cab, passenger side only (cut right down the middle)
2005 ram had full dash
2002 durango gutted, but had computer on driver kick panel
1999 dakota, no computer on kick panel, full dash was still there

Second place was a regular "You pull it".

2005 1500 had a pdc under hood but interior was trashed and hacked wiring
2002 1500 had a very broken up dash and hacked wiring
2004 1500 gutted, full dash was there, all wiring was there
1996 1500 cab only, hacked wiring
2001 1500 all manual, still had engine & trans, had some dash left
1998 1500 all cab wires and seats/interior were there, dash was not
1997 1500 absolutely gutted, shell only
1995 1500 all cab wiring and full dash
1997 1500 almost pristine interior
1997 dakota also pristine interior
2001 dakota gutted, shell only
2001 full wiring but no computer on driver kick panel
1997 dakota, no computer on kick panel (didnt write down what else it had)
2000 dakota had a partial dash
1999 dakota had been gone through, but was some stuff left
2002 durango partial dash but all wires were there
2004 durango full dash but no computer on driver kickpanel
2002 durango everythign was there, hadn't been touched much at all
1999 durango had infinity amp but no wires/hacked wires
2004 durango partial dash but no computer on driver kickpanel
???? durango half a dash, over head console, but no computer on driver kickpanel
2003 durango gutted dash, didn't list what else was there
2000 durango gutted dash and no computer on driver kickpanel

 

Did you happen to see the tow hitch on any of those dak's?

 

I have not looked this year but last year went to all the junk yards for Dakota parts with no luck no Dakotas at all.

I didnt go all out and go to the Phoenix area but the east valley area Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe.

 

didn't look. Alot were cabs & cab/Chassis. Not many had beds. But I'll check the rack at the place i got my hitch- no promises though. Shipping would be a ! for that too.

 

Thier is a guy on the forum looking for a wiring harness for the doors he is adding in power windows and locks I think and maybe power side view mirrors.

Getting the needed wires for your project would be nice I hope it happens for ya.

I would love to get power side view mirrors have you seen any forums on that and what it would take?

 

you would have too see if you have the connection for it under your door panel locate the mirrors and also the correct switch set up for operating just the mirrors and this is if you dont have power windows or locks but if you do the harness should be there then you would need to find the parts for the mirror switch and install them this was one guys deal just got the switch and mirrors but if we want to talk about it much more so we dont get the thing but if you need to start a post and ill post all the info i have on doing the conversion to power everything for who ever wants it
