Default Headers for the 2.5L

I found these while surfing the web and it peaked my interest: http://www.bankspower.com/products/show/220/54 Would or could they fit on a dakota 2.5? I mean the Jeep 2.5 and Dakota 2.5 are essentially the same engine so it should bolt right up, but my concern would be the down pipe though. Any thoughts?

Default you knew I would look

I can’t say if they work or not but I’m interested I’m in the planning stage of R/R my heads with some ported and polished custom heads may even use custom stainless steal valves.

So I’m interested did you download the PDF file on them http://assets.bankspower.com/manuals/152/96437.pdf

I bet they will work because the Dakota has a ton of room on that side of the engine bay now the intake to exhaust match is a question.

So you got the Dakota 2.5L Blueprint Bug like me? Why not see Just how far you can go with the 2.5L

I’m very happy with my 2.5L throttle body to 4.0L change out very different performance now better yes.

Talking match with new head

When I get my head sent into a custom head shop I should send these headers with the head so they can port the head exhaust to match perfect to the TorqueTubes® Exhaust Manifold 2.5L

Default just looked at stock

I just looked at the stock exhaust and boy are they restricted as they say if you look the stock exhaust shoots down in a sharp 90 degree angle as soon as the hot gasses exit the head you may as well not want the hot exhaust gasses to go anywhere these new headers give you a smoother turn so the hot exhaust should flow much better than stock.

00daksport25 you are still in California correct this may trash your Smog inspection.

Yea, difinitely, why not push the little engine to the limit. lol

Yes, I'm in California. As long as it can mount wth the intake and downpipe with little modification then I'm not too worried about it. Come smog check I'll just change all the parts back. Technically my cai is illegal because it's a homebrew and not carb certified. I'm actually thinking of purchasing another head and build it to my spec and swap it with my stocker along with a mild cam. Keep all the stock parts so i can still pass emissions.

No I haven't used them before. I have an all Dodge truck yard about 20 minutes from me and I've had great luck with finding parts for the 2.5 there. The last I checked (2 weeks ago) they had two 2.5s. One was torn down already and the other was still in the truck.

Ha, actually I need another exhuast manifold anyway as mine has a big crack in it. So, i guess that's as good of an excuse as any to get a TorqueTube

Default get the engine and trans

I wonder what they would charge for the complete engine and trans if you have the room and money that may be a great buy lots of spare parts on hand and may be cheaper than buying parts as needed.

A suggestion

I've thought about it, but don't really have the room for it right now though.
