Default 08+ 4.7L Intake Manifold finally installed

So I finally had the time and money to get everything together and install my 08+ Intake Manifold. The install went fairly well, with only one trip to Advance Auto Parts during the process (needed a longer vacuum hose for the PCV vacuum port).

First impressions after around 60 miles of the computer relearning and adjusting...I love it! It pulls very strong at 3K rpm's on up, with minimal to no noticeable loss of bottom end torque. This manifold is amazing compared to the '00-'02 manifolds. In the future I may go beyond Superchips in favor of SCT to get the maximum benefit, as for now all I have is a 68mm ported/polished TB, deleted restrictive air hat and K&N drop in for my air intake, 3" single Magnaflow cat-back exhaust, and the 3815 tuner.

All in all, I highly recommend the mod. And a couple pics of course, because I love the Chrysler Blue paint I had the manifold painted in.

Thanks, Dwight! Sooner or later I gotta get a set of valve covers painted, I can't help but feel like mine take away from the rest of the engine bay.

Good point. Maybe paint the yellow caps/t-handles black or blue also.

i haven't done any research but what does that intake manifold have over your original intake?

Definitely a must in the near future. I gotta have it on point if I'm able to make it to the get together in Oct .

Its an improved design over the older manifolds. Has shorter intake runners to develop more power in the higher rpm range. Definitely pulls stronger up top now.

Here's a link describing the differences. http://airram.com/product.php?catego...productid=1334

I'd enjoy this if I could get a hold of one for a decent price.

There is another guy besides airram, who makes the TB adapters for $175. Then just find an intake manifold, I picked mine up for $140 shipped.

Good deal. I almost bought one when I rebuilt the 4.7 in my Grand Cherokee ('02 HO) but with the adapter it's too tall to clear the hood. The '02 HO intake WAS the cream of the crop before the '08+ one came out because of it's short runners. This was changed for the '03+ HOs and I dunno why, but the '02 HO intake ain't to be found so I had to flush the sh*t out of mine from all the debris got sucked up into it when the valve seat let loose...
