There is one more down below 9 connected to a yellow wire. 98DAKAZ how did you do that.

Got it

Just snag off the forum page and redo

I place all my pic's on my web sites and just paste the link in the forum

I think Dan fell asleep

That is actually a very clean wiring job someone put some effort into it I wish my wiring was that clean.

Much better.

#9 is tied into one of the grounds. Where does that head to in the "added" harness?

Insulate those diodes. You don't need anything shorting out.

It is a neat job. If you don't need it though, pull it. What's with the amber colored lamp cord?

#3 connection should be your parking lights. pull it and see if that helps. also, i am tending to beleive that #7 & #8 with the diodes are your door pin switches. and it looks like #10 is the domelight supervision, if it is yellow with no tracer.

I think thats his speaker wires he could check that by unplugging them and seeing if his speaker goes out.

00DakDan is correct he needs to trace each wire to see were they go this will probably clear up a lot as to what they are for.

I’m no wiring expert but I think that’s correct but they are grounds I could be wrong so no need to insulate them, It looks like someone knew what they were doing but I dont fully understand the (CTM)

yes they are grounds, but if they touch an unintended ground the ctm will think the door is open. he has to have a control box in there somewhere for that alarm. pull the knee bolster off under the steering column and look for a box. if i had to guess, i would say it is a bullbog security system, by the color of the wires and the fact that they used scotchlock connectors( big no no)!

Ok now here we go. After looking and disconnecting I found this. On end was cut and tapped. The large end was stuck up in the dash. But after pulling this out my problem is still there. Again when I turn on lights and the door is not closed tite all the lights flash when you put truck in drive. This also happens if fuel light is on. So if at night you are low on fuel going down the highway lights on all that time your lights are flashing and will not stop tell you put fuel in. I deliver news papers and sometimes try to leave door open to next house lights go grazy.

Ok I think I understand the CTM better it’s like a separate circuit all its own so anything associated with it needs to ground directly to CTM to function properly.

Is this correct?

I dont know this stuff so I want to learn and understand better

Thanks I hope you get this guys problem fixed.
