Afternoon update.

Tried torching the nut and hitting it with a air chisel. Nothing.
Torched again and beat on a adjustable wrench. Nothing.

I don't own a sawsall so I am going to pick one up and cut the clutch off the nut. Then I am going to stick a giant impact on there and go to town.

This project is driving me insane! It took me less time to install new shocks, power steering pump, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and change the oil

Question

I feel your pain

Can you rent a nut splitter that big split the big nut then it should come off.

Or if you have space to do it drill small holes just deep as to try and split the nut yourself like 3 or 5 in a line.

Then use a chisel and try to split it open just enough to losen the nut and get it off

I win

Broke out the sawsall and cut the clutch off the nut. It was actually very easy to do. The shaft was completely unscathed. I happened to have a 36mm socket from another project, that and a 3' breaker bar got the job done.

The issue I was having was no matter how tight I had the adjustable wrench it would round off. I got it off first try with the torch and socket. I will post some pics later of the carnage.

Sounds like you need a better quality adjustable wrench..

The issue was not the quality of the wrench. The issue was the nut was so tight that no two sided wrench would be able to apply enough torque before rounding off the two corners it was gripping.

The socket I used was six sides with rounded corners so it gripped the flats. The clutch tool that was posted earlier might have worked only because it would have been hammer torque not constant.
