2000 dakota won't shift out of 4WD

Nothing to rewind. Your clockspring is destroyed, guaranteed. It happened when the steering wheel spun. Need a new one.

It connects the buttons for cruise, the drivers airbag, and the horn.

Yes, your horn is dead too.

Disconnect the battery for at least 2 minutes before you pull the airbag. It's not a difficult job once you pull the wheel.
My 4x4 works now, I noticed no 4wd indicator light on dashboard. With no cruise control n the airbag light on? But I've got horn. Gonna pull airbag n see if salvageable clock steering wheel spring. Still do I need to pull steering wheel to check or reconnect 525-103?

my p/n for my clockspring
that I hope to get to soon.
but first gotta check oil atf4 in tranny n transfer case.
