Default oversize brake pin replacement?

Sounds like my left front wheel bearing is ready to split in half. quite turning right, herd of elephants turning left. Pretty sure from the left front.

I have the oversize slide pins in the caliper from when I did the front brakes, they say only use once...what's the suitable fix other than a new upright?

If I understand correctly, the fix would be a standard pin with a heli-coil.

+1 Yes, that's what it was! I saw this thread last night and I was going to respond, but I completely forgot what this was called

The thing I don’t like about heli-coil is if you don’t get the hole drilled straight or centered perfect then it’s off now and with the slider pin that could cause binding.

Who drills perfect by hand?

It's pretty easy to drill straight when you're just slightly enlarging an existing hole. And isn't the other end of the pin supported? It's not like it can be crooked (just going by memory here, so I could be wrong).

I think it's something goofy like a 9mm, but a decent parts store should have it.

M9 x 1.25 right? (same as a standard M9 bolt..if I'd known that when we screwed them up, would have ran a bolt from the backside to fix the threads...screwed up the first 3 threads and couldnt find the tap, never thought to use a bolt)

How do the oversize pins effect helicoil fitment? I don't know how much bigger they are.

I don't know about the oversize pins. I've never used one. But I doubt they enlarge the hole as much as you would need to for a helicoil.
